The fourth entry for my Philippine Gods and Goddesses, Bathala. Bathala was the supreme God of the pre-colonial Filipinos (tagalogs). In the ancient tagalog mythology, Bathala was the one who created the universe. The time when Spanish Conquerors came to the Philippines, Bathala was incorporated to the Christian teaching by the friars in order to assist with converting the population to Christianity.
